Puppy Raising

Puppy Raisers

Puppy Raisers are carefully selected from the university student body and local community members who are given a puppy to train for 12 – 18 months. During this time, the Puppy Raisers are responsible for phase one training which includes basic obedience training, socializing the puppy with people and other dogs, and providing unconditional love. After training concludes, puppies are donated to a nationally-recognized service dog training school for phase two.

Puppy Raiser and Puppy Sitter classes are held once a semester.  In order to be a Pupper Sitter you must attend orientation and class 1. In order to be a Puppy Raiser you must attend orientation and classes 1-3. To see when the dates are this semester check the calendar.
