Hope -

Hope was introduced into our program in April 2016. She is a goldendoodle donated by MADE in Texas Assistance Dogs. She was trained by Kristina Longoria! Kristina wants everyone to know: "Hope was a truly special dog. She was super smart, silly and could even bring some sass. She loved being out and about and going to new places. She was very aware of her surroundings and curious about what was going on. She loved to people watch and squirrel watch of course. She loved to play with squeaky toys and roll on her back with her feet kicking up in the air. She was also the faster runner I had even seen. She always made me laugh an dsmile with her huge personality. She showed me she was really smart from day one and way too smart for her own good sometimes too (you couldn't even think about tricking her)! She was very in tune to my emotions and that's something that will make her such a great service dog. She is a great companion and a best friend!

Parker -

Parker was introduced to the organization in March 2016 and donated by Lake Country Labradoodle. He was trained by Aly Davis! She says, "Parker is a happy go lucky boy who will do anything for a treat. He loves to work with people, especially kids. He is a morning person and is ready to go when he wakes up! Chelsea says Perkins was such a quick learner and would understand new concepts with only a few tries. He was a big love bug and was always open to receiving adoration and chin scratches. As he aged he became goofy and incredibly affectionate. He was always very patient and understanding of my mistakes; sometimes it even felt like he was training me. He is going to be an incredible Guide Dog and make so many people smile!

He probably taught me more than I taught him during our time together, but he was always excited to train and learn new things. He liked to show off all of his tasks like closing cabinets, pulling off socks, carrying keys or paper, and turning on and off the lights. He loved when people made a big deal about him performing one of his tasks. I know he's loving the working dog life!

Karsen was trained by Laine Tiedeman and graduated in April 2016. Karsen is now in training at Power Paws as a diabetic alert dog and they absolutely love her. She was a goofy and lovable girl that was always looking to please. Even if she couldn't understand what you wanted, she would try everything she could think of in case it was correct. Some of her favorite things were running along the beach, amassing a stick collection, and eating. Some of my favorite quirks were the way she would wiggle her whole butt when excited and how she could drag her feet slightly when walking so you could hear her approaching ever so quietly. There has yet to be a person she doesn't like. She is certainly a one of a kind pup with a heart of gold.
